Sally O Martinez

A great servant of God. Born March 12, 1935, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, February 27, 2020. Born in Salinas, California. Retired CNA for 37 plus years in Monterey County including private in home care and night shift CNA at Forest Hill Manor. Retired 2003 to Havasu Lake, California to the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation and recently returned to Salinas 2019. A beloved wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grand mother and great great grandmother. Preceded in death by Joe Martinez with 57 years of marriage. Dedicated beloved mother to Marta (Mario) Valverde, Susana (Sonny) Mauricio, Madeline (Rick) Silva, Marion (Robert) Fisher, Marina (Connie) Martinez, Joseph (Telina) Martinez, Tara Willis, Thomas (Peggy Sue) Martinez. Treasured and embraced every moment with them. A blessed grandmother of 26 grand children, 43 great grandchildren,3 baby to come in 2020,2 great great grandchildren. Surviving family Ray Ortiz, Antonio Ortiz, Lupe Peralta, Ramona Ortiz, Linda Mendoza, Martha Pacquette, Vincent Cortez. Preceded in death by Joe Martinez, Edward Ortiz, Rosita Fernandez, Raquel Ortiz, Juanita Ayala, Mario Cortez. Numerous nieces and nephews, too many to mention. Life long friends in Salinas, Pacific Grove, and Havasu Lake. Her interests were beach walks, needle point, and art and bead crafting. Spending time with her family and friends. Her most loved time was spreading the love of Jesus for salvation each and every day. Praising the lord, and having her daily devotion and adding to her prayer list. Her testimony started in 1977 on Ewa Beach, Hawaii and baptized in Watsonville CA.

Very active member of Light of the Lake Church in Havasu Lake, California. And recently attending Refuge Salinas.

Her life was a living example of Colossians 1:1-14.

Viewing services at Healy’s Mortuary March 3, 2020 starting at 1 PM- 9 PM.

Services with Matt Gersonde @ 6 pm.

Cremation to follow. Celebration Of Life to be determined at a later date.
